Escan

Escan, one of the QuickFile Standard Applications, is developed on top of the QuickFile API which communicates to the DSS in a uniform way.

Escan converts paper to electronic documents.

Scanning options depend on the hardware used. Escan runs on Microsoft Windows™ and supports any production scanner that has a ISIS driver.

To allow better scanning, images are enhanced during the scanning process.

Post-scanning features allow for post-processing of the scanned documents.

General scanning options (hardware independent)

  • Setting image DPI
  • Mode: Black & White, grayscale, color
  • Page size eg. Letter, A4, automatic detection

Image enhanced options

  • Auto Contrast

  • De-skewing

Additional image enhanced options using Escan+

Batch creation options

  • Via the user interface where end-user manually can create a batch
  • Shortcuts
  • Using separator sheets placed in between scanned paper documents; based on the barcodes printed on the separator sheet, batches are created
