Authentication

Access to documents is restricted to users or groups holding proper privileges. To allow the identification of users by accounts, several authentication mechanisms are supported:

LDAP

The LDAP protocol is fully supported by the QF-Suite. Both organizations using a proprietary version of LDAP such as Novell’s eDirectory or the open-source flavors such as OpenLDAP can configure the suite accordingly.

Active Directory

Microsoft-based organization’s using Active Directory configure the suite using proper Active Directory services to supply user credentials.

QFS Authentication

Organizations opting to use the QuickFile as a standalone solution rely on the QF-Suite Authentication built-in the DSS.

The configuration of the authentication is part of the administrator tool packaged with the DSS.

Using this tool, organizations opting for the QF-Suite Authentication model can easily configure and manage users, groups, and accounts.

In case groups are used; privileges can be set both at group as on individual user level. Following privileges are supported in the QuickFile:

In QuickFile, Administrators are supplied with the tools to manage and administer the DSS and other suite components themselves.

Auditing and tracking

QuickFile supports the full document lifecycle. From creation to removal of documents; every activity is tracked and traced.

Using the audit tool, administrators easily can request audit trails and reports to verify the integrity of documents.
